Xtá Ratsá event

The folder follows the Xtá Ratsá event from the preparation through the dance at night. Hands grind a dark pigment and spread it on the skin of girls and boys. Feathered headdresses, masks, and musicians with wind instruments come next. At night the group walks the street with that pigment on their bodies, the headdresses, and the sticks. On the covered court, in front of the crowd, they dance while the trumpet plays.
