The black chunks crushed flat on the slab
The black chunks lie open and flattened on the rough slab. A hand rests on the near corner and does not hold the stone. The stone only shows along the top edge.
The pile is not a closed heap: there are wide plates and crumbs around them. Dark dust stains almost the whole face of the slab. The right hand has a dark sleeve, and the fingers rest on the edge. The upper stone is cut off by the top edge of the frame. The flowered curtain remains in the background. No face is in the frame.
