First Xtá Ratsá rehearsal

Girls, boys, and adolescents rehearse the Xtá Ratsá dance for the first time in the Laguna Seca school courtyard, with Maestro Abertano Gerónimo Cantú García. They form lines and a circle on the court, with sticks, and try headdresses of paper and of feathers. The maestro keeps time on the trumpet; a clarinet and the bass drum sound beside him. Neighbors are on the bleachers. The covered court, the banana grove, and the blue railing close the space.
