Black trunks frame the valley
In black and white, thick leafless trunks fill the foreground and open onto a valley. Broken branches cross the sky. On the far slope, pale patches of forest and a few light specks can be made out.
Several trunks are broken halfway up and keep short stubs. Among them one still has a dark, rounded crown. The valley opens in the center, with a slope descending and pale points in the distance. The sky is smooth and bright. The highest branches stand thin against that sky.
