The needle held level, beside the scissors
The needle sits level between thumb and index finger, aimed at the edge of the brown band. Orange-handled scissors lie beneath the hands. A bundle of black feathers fills the right-hand corner of the concrete.
The fingers bring the needle to the band's already folded edge, still fine in texture. The metal tube lies on its side beside the spool of brown thread, and a length of thread curves across the concrete. On the right, black feathers enter the frame and cover the corner. Red quills also show along the lower edge. The navy shirt and the orange cord stay on the person sewing.
