The pool at the foot of the orange bank
A bank of orange earth drops to a pool of muddy water. At the upper right, moss covers the crown. Dark specks show in the water. Pine needles and roots frame the edge.
The earth of the bank shifts from orange to dark green where it is wet. A thin pale root crosses the earthen wall. On the left, the water continues through a narrower cut, among leaves. In the foreground, out of focus, are stones and dry needles. The moss covers only the crown, on the right. There are no people in the frame.
