A purple cartridge among dry pods
An open cartridge, with a purple tube and a metal base, lies on the dirt among dry pods. The mouth is empty. Gravel, loose stones, and a piece of wood lie around it.
The tube is plastic and the base is pale metal. No letters can be read on the base. The mouth points downward and the rim looks uneven. The pods are long, brown, and split open. The dirt is reddish and holds stones of several sizes. The photographer's note calls it a spent shotgun cartridge. The empty tube matches that note; the firing-pin mark is not distinct.
