One stick in front and others cross behind
The photograph is black and white. A boy in a light shirt holds a stick at his waist. Behind him, other hands cross more sticks. On one side a boy lifts his stick; on the other, a boy smiles.
The boy in the light shirt is in profile and looks to the right. The stick he holds is only one. Behind his arm, other hands hold more sticks, and two of them cross. The boy on the left lifts his and smiles. The one on the right smiles too, with another stick held low. Legs and shoes show on the upper rail. A figure is cut off at the left edge. The floor is boards.
