Two sticks crossed face to face
The photograph is black and white. Two youths face each other and cross their sticks. The one on the right extends his arm and the one in the light shirt answers with his. In the background, someone plays the trumpet.
The sticks are light and they cross at the height of the hands. The youth on the right has his mouth open. The one in the light shirt is in profile. Another child stands behind him, also in profile. Farther back, a child walks away. The player stays small by the bleachers, in a cap and a light shirt. The roof and the poles frame the pines. The shadows fall toward the lower edge.
