Pine needles and one cone
The ground is covered with dry pine needles, long and crossed. Near the center lies one cone. A few pale leaves show as well, and green leaves appear at one edge.
The needles form a continuous mat and almost hide the earth. The cone sits among them and is darker than they are. The pale leaves are few and lie loose. A little green leaf shows in the upper corner. Light cuts the mat into bands. The photographer's note says thorns. The frame shows pine needles and one cone, not a stem with thorns.
